Francesco Faraone AQUILA (Palermo 1676 - Rome 1740ca) "Two Angels hold up the Chigi coat of arms" Original engraving in the form of the collection entitled "Collection of Different Vases formed by Distinguished Ancient Artifices and various Plaques superimposed on the most famous Factories in Rome" printed and published by Lorenzo Filippo De Rossi in Rome in 1713 and dedicated to Pope Clement XI. Beautiful copy in coeval edition on laid paper bearing the filigree "Lily in the single circle" typical of Roman paper production of the first half of the 18th century, with good margins beyond the imprint of the plate, various small traces of oxidation and humidity at the edges, in the complex in good general condition. Bibliography: Milesi "Dictionary of Engravers" Bergamo 1989 page 52. Nagler “Neues Allgemeines Kunstler Lexicon” Leipzig sd vol.1 pag.144e 145.
